A free consultation is offered to all applicants to ensure that we can provide what the person needs.

Because our costs differ for all services….And we sometimes have funding available… we calculate your cost at the assessment so that you can know what you are getting into financially.

As a guide, most therapy with a qualified counsellor or therapist is around £60-75 per hour, this is all dependent on the type of therapy and how specialist they need to be. For example, EMDR is a specialist service and so this costs a little more. Sometimes family groups or couples may need more than 1 therapist so this also adds costs.

We can promise that we will always do our best to keep your costs as low as we can for your benefit.

We gather information about you, basic things like your name & address (or the child’s) then we have a brief discussion about the difficulties you are facing, we don’t need to dig too deep at this appointment don’t worry. We then look at which service will be best for you.

We give you all costs upfront so there are no hidden surprises, and we then match you with a therapist who you like the sound of. The next appointment is directly with your therapist, and you can then talk as deeply as you would like with them.

That all depends on what you agree at your assessment. Some people like a weekly appointment, some prefer monthly. We agree this with you so that it fits with your needs and lifestyle.

Yes, our therapists are all professionally trained, they receive clinical supervision and they are registered with the regulatory bodies relevant to their skills. All therapists have certificates that you can see if you want to know more about their professional qualifications.

We can provide additional outreach support once your formal therapy is ended, just ask us about this.

Yes, some of our therapeutic interventions don’t rely on words. So it’s great for children who use non verbal communication. This includes Art therapy, Play therapy and things like LEGO therapy and so on. Our team have experience in working with children with disabilities and we will find ways to foster a positive therapy experience for them.

We have a room on the ground floor which is easily accessible for people who use a wheelchair but unfortunately it’s not a room suitable for some of the messy creative therapies like sand play / water play or wet art therapy.

However, it’s a room that is suitable for all talking therapies and some limited creative therapy.

No, we are an independent mental health service, our client services are totally private & do not go onto your child’s medical records. This is something to consider for them later in life.

Yes, we have worked with many social workers and other professionals, and they have obtained funding to pay for client’s therapy. If you are unsure about this just ask your allocated social worker.

Yes, we may need some confirmation from a social worker that they approve of our intervention if there are any legal considerations, but generally our work with looked after children has proven to be extremely successful.
